Grégoire Kayibanda (May 1, 1924 – December 15, 1976), educated at Kabgayi Mission, the headquarters of the Roman Catholic archdiocese, and from 1943 at the Grand Seminary of Nyakibanda. He was the first President of the Republic of Rwanda, Gregoire Kayibanda, took up this position in October 1961.
