Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Pacelli (Pope Pius XII), was born in Rome on March 2, 1876, son of Virginia Graziosi and Filippo Pacelli. This is a family very much involved in the juridical offices of the Roman Curia. Some Jews have accused Pius XII, who reigned from 1939 to 1958, of being indifferent to the Holocaust and not speaking out against Hitler.
