Nicolás Maduro was born on November 23, 1962, in Caracas, Venezuela. Maduro worked as a bus driver before being named foreign minister of his home country in 2006. Nicolás Maduro officially entered politics in the late ’90s. Maduro campaigned for Hugo Chavez’s release from prison for the 1992 attempted coup to overthrow President Carlos Andres Perez.
